Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CareerTrackr ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

CareerTrackr is a web application designed to help you track job applications, manage CVs, schedule interviews, and monitor application progress. The Service is provided for personal use only.

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your password and account
  • Promptly update any changes to your registration information
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

4. Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. We will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this security obligation.

Passwords must meet the following requirements:

  • At least 12 characters long
  • Contain at least one uppercase letter
  • Contain at least one lowercase letter
  • Contain at least one number
  • Contain at least one special character

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
  • Upload malicious files, viruses, or any harmful code
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers/networks connected to the Service
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Use the Service to store or transmit content that infringes third-party rights

6. Content and File Uploads

When uploading CVs or other content to the Service:

  • You retain ownership of your content
  • You grant us a license to store and display your content as necessary to provide the Service
  • You represent that you have the right to upload the content
  • CV files must be in PDF or DOCX format and not exceed 5MB
  • You are responsible for backing up your own data

7. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

8. Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable and uninterrupted service, but we do not guarantee that:

  • The Service will be available at all times or without interruption
  • The Service will be error-free or that defects will be corrected
  • The Service will meet your specific requirements

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time with or without notice.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of opportunity, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CareerTrackr, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any rights of another party
  • Content you upload to the Service

11. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Reasons for termination may include:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Extended period of inactivity (more than 3 years)
  • Abusive behavior towards other users or administrators

You may delete your account at any time through the Data Rights portal. Account deletion is subject to a 30-day grace period, during which you may cancel the deletion request.

12. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Job Application Tracker and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

13. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice in the application. Your continued use of the Service after such notification constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and CareerTrackr regarding the use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
